This scene is set in 1935. At the centre is the World War 1 memorial. At the front right is the top of the original Red Lion pub. Just above can be seen the front garden with sand and bricks of Trebbeck Builders and Funeral Directors. The row of buildings above this consisted of a general store and stable where a horse can be seen having its shoes repaired. This building was destroyed by a stray V1 (doodlebug) German rocket in World War 2 killing one of the occupants. The Rising Sun pub is in the centre of the view. The main road to Titchfield ran through the village until the by-pass was constructed
