The buildings in this entire scene from circa 1947 with exception to the Clarence Tavern at the lower right have long gone. St Matthew’s church was demolished in the early 1950s. The single story building to the right of the church was a school attached to the church. Clarence Square is visible at the upper right of centre. Mumby Road now runs through the centre of this scene. The battleship leaving the harbour is HMS Nelson
