The entrance to Gosport High Street from the harbour end. The scene is set in 1960 On the right is what the remains of the bombed Market House which was demolished for the construction of the Ark Royal pub a few years later. Also, the original Dive Cafe can be seen in the basement of the Market House. The stance of the man seen leaving this cafe shows what a precarious entrance this was. It’s no surprise it was called The Dive. The Old Northumberland pub can be seen next to the Market House. On the left can be seen the original Port Hole fish and chip shop before it was relocated to the new building again a few years later. It is just visible past Contessa and L.S. Vail estate agent.
