This was a prime location for high ranking naval officers in its time due to its proximity to the famous Burneys Academy for officer cadets. Clarence Square school at the centre was built in 1906 and is all that remains from this scene set in 1916. HMS Victory is still afloat in the harbour before being taken into dry dock in 1922.
